Chris Mercer is a graduate of the Creative Arts program at the University of Wollongong (Australia) and is currently a Senior Theatre Consultant at Arup an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, architects, consultants and technical specialists. Prior to this role he was the Head of Production at Sydney Theatre Company. As a production manager he has worked for the National Theatre of Great Britain, Sonia Friedman Productions, Sydney Theatre Company, Belvoir Theatre, Chunky Move and Lucy Guerin Inc. 

 He has toured extensively internationally relighting works for Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre, Chunky Move and Belvoir Theatre in major international arts festivals that include Next Wave Festival (Brooklyn Academy of Music), Festival de Mexico, International Dance Festival (Seoul), New Zealand, Holland and Melbourne International Arts Festivals.

 Chris’s design credits include Faker, Assembly (Chunky Move) and as associate on Urinetown the Musical (Julian Stoneman/West End), Norma (Opera de Bordeaux), Dual (Stephanie Lake Inc) and Conversation Piece (Lucy Guerin Inc).
