TOM SNOWDON
Tom Snowdon is originally from Alice Springs in Central Australia. He is a singer and songwriter currently signed to Pieater Records and part of alternative duo No Mono. His work centres on his unique and haunting vocal styling, which originally found an audience through his work fronting Alice Springs alternative group Lowlakes. In this capacity Tom released two records (the latest shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize) and toured all over Australia, in the US, and at key festivals across Europe. In 2014, Snowdon collaborated with #1Dads on the widely praised track, Return To. This collaboration saw Snowdon performing to sold-out crowds across the country and appearing at various festivals including Splendour In The Grass.
Snowdon’s newly formed project, No Mono, has picked up where the #1 Dads collaboration left off, receiving high rotation on national radio and selling out shows across Australia. As part of his commitment to his home in Central Australia, No Mono have added Alice Springs to their roster of tour locations for all national touring. The duo will return there in August for the Alice Desert Festival as well as performing in the 2019 Darwin Festival.
Snowdon’s work has also found a foothold in dance and film. He has collaborated with his sister, Frankie Snowdon composing sound for her solo work ‘Celebration’ (Melbourne 2010) the first development of ‘Value for Money’ with Sara Black (London 2015) and the short film ‘Frankie’, directed by Ben Saunders. In 2020, Tom is also working with Dancenorth to create a new immersive sound experience and releasing his first solo EP Channel through Pieater Records.
